About Us
Music in Rannoch brings high quality chamber music to an isolated glen in Highland Perthshire. With Schiehallion and Craig Varr dominating the skyline, the Old Church of Rannoch makes for an atmospheric concert venue, with its beautiful arched timber ceiling creating a warm and resonant acoustic that both audiences and musicians find particularly enjoyable.
Founded in 2001 by the Reverend David Hamilton and Dr Elsa Hamilton, Music in Rannoch enjoys the support of Chamber Music Scotland, and holds six concerts each season between the months of May and October, with occasional extra events and concerts throughout the year.
Musicians presented in the series come from all over Scotland, and occasionally from abroad, and the concerts feature soloists or small chamber ensembles of the highest caliber. Rannoch and the surrounding area offers a peace and tranquility that is hard to find these days, and is the perfect environment for creative exploration and deep focus. If you’re a musician, composer, or artist and this sparks your interest, please do get in touch with your ideas!
